SiS unveiled low power EM touch processor

SiS has unveiled it's first generation low-power EM touch processor - SiS9730, in an effort to enabling the end-users to create new usage models for pen writing applications for small form-factor E-Book reader, Tablet PC and Drawing Tablet. One of the extreme advantages of the EM touch subsystem over the capacitive touch subsystem is that EM touch subsystem does not impact the light transmission rate, via embedding the antenna sensing board beneath the display panel, and thus is extremely suitable for serving as the human interface device for both the reflective electronic display device, and the active TFT LCD.

Today, Dell released plans for Streak, a 5-inch Android™-based Tablet designed to provide people the best “on-the-go” entertainment, social connection, and navigation experience. Early this June the Dell Streak will be available across the UK at O2 stores, O2.co.uk, The Carphone Warehouse, and later in the month at Dell.co.uk. Pricing and data plans for the UK will be announced by O2 ahead of availability. Later this summer, Dell plans to make Streak available in the U.S.
